Krabi Rock Climbing—Half Day:
Being that I had never rock climbed before and am probably one of the clumsiest people you’ll ever meet, I chose the beginner level half day for my first time climbing.
Service: I’ve said it before, but I’ll say it again: a tour guide can really make or break your experience. In this case, our guide, and everyone else at the company, completely made the experience. While I do look back and remember how much I enjoyed the climbing, I mostly remember how welcoming and entertaining my guide was. From the time they picked us up to the time they drove back to our hotel to drop off some t-shirts that we forgot to buy on the island, I was thoroughly impressed and satisfied with their service.
Somehow convinced my mom to climb rocks on her vacation
Course: The half day course started at about 8 am when they picked us up from our hotel and ended around 2 pm when we finished climbing. I climbed about five different courses and was dead by the end of the day.

Real Rocks Climbing School—Full Day:
Since I had one day of climbing under my belt I clearly thought I was a trained professional and decided to take on the full day of climbing for my next adventure.
Service: I was picked up at 8 am and taken to their main shop on Ao Nang while we waited for the rest of the people that were climbing that day to arrive. We waited there for about an hour, but they did give me free coffee so I’m not complaining. Everyone I encountered was nice enough and my specific tour guide was friendly…though he didn’t really seem to want to chat lol. Overall, they were friendly enough, but nothing to rave about.
Course: The full day course consists of a few hours of climbing in the morning, a short hike through a cave to a beautiful viewpoint, repelling down from said cave, lunch, and another hour of climbing after lunch. There was one guy in my group who had been climbing for 20 years, his girlfriend, who had never been climbing before, and me (who had been climbing once so is obviously very skilled). My point being that, you don’t need to be a great climber to choose the full day option. The view from the cave and repelling from it was definitely a highlight of my day.
Still not sure how I didn’t drop my phone taking this picture

My Choice: Full Day Course with Krabi Rock Climbing
While I didn’t do the full day with this company, the itinerary was almost identical so I have no doubt that they would only exceed my expectations. Although the full day of climbing is definitely a long day, the few additions are definitely worth it.
I really hope you have the chance to go rock climbing in Krabi because it is truly an experience you will never forget. I am obviously very experienced in this area, so if you have any further questions feel free to ask! Jk lol, still a beginner, but I’ll give it my best shot.
P.S: Not cool enough to have companies sponsor my trips, so all trips mentioned above were funded by me…aka opinions are my own!
